1374 windows and doors in flats were stolen, three arrested
Raipur: Thieves have created such a havoc in EWS Colony that now even the officers are stunned. The thieves have not only stolen the houses, but have also turned them into complete ruins. The theft has been carried out in such a way that even the windows and doors installed in 1374 flats are not left. The thieves have crossed through the iron grill by cutting it. For the purpose of management, the Municipal Corporation had purchased this colony from the Housing Board for Rs 45 crore. Now the condition is bad because of thieves.
All the blocks of the EWS colony built for the poor were seen in ruins. From the doors, grills, basing to taps and tanks installed in the flat by the Housing Board, everything was found missing. The Municipal Corporation purchased the EWS Colony from the Housing Board for management. After this, in 2011, 800 families were settled from Telibandha itself. After this, hundreds of families from Rajendra Nagar were also settled in this colony. After a few years, after flats were built in Marine Drive and Amlidih, the family was again sent to their original place. As soon as the flat in Boriyakala became vacant, the thieves started creating havoc.
Crime DSP Dinesh Sinha said that, based on the circumstances seen on the spot, theft had been happening for years. When we received the complaint, four people were arrested. Stolen material was recovered from them. Now the names of some more people have come to light.
