15 laborers from Jharkhand brought to Ranchi by flight
Ranchi: 15 laborers from Jharkhand, who were safely rescued after 17 days from Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi, reached Ranchi late Friday evening. Jharkhand government had made arrangements to bring all the laborers and their 12 family members by flight. As soon as Shramveer and his family members came out of the terminal at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi at around 8.30 pm, everyone was warmly welcomed by playing drums and garlanding them. Jharkhand Government’s Labor Minister Satyanand Bhokta, MPs Sanjay Seth, Mahua Maji, Deepak Prakash etc. were present at the airport to welcome him.
To bring the workers, a three-member team of Labor Planning and Training Department officers led by Jharkhand’s senior IAS Bhuvneshwar Pratap Singh had reached Uttarakhand on Wednesday itself. Expressing happiness over the safe return of the workers, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren said that the workers have an important contribution in the development of the country. The government of Jharkhand is taking full care of the workers. If there are no workers, development will come to a halt. There is no policy in the country through which the dignity of workers can be protected. We are making a special policy in the interest of the workers of Jharkhand working in the state and outside the state.
