Chamoli. A major accident took place at the site of Namami Gange project in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. About two dozen people have been badly scorched due to electrocution here. All were hurriedly admitted to the nearest hospital. According to sources, 15 people have died so far due to this accident. There is a possibility that the death toll may increase further.

According to the information, this project was near Chamoli market. Due to the explosion of the transformer, current spread at the site, in which many people have died. 24 people were present at the site at the time of the accident, the injured are now being shifted to Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered an inquiry into the incident, he himself can also go to Chamoli.
