17 Men DNA Tested in Disabled Woman Pregnancy Case, Father Matches

Mumbai: A gang rape incident in Mumbai has revealed shocking details. An unexpected angle has emerged in the case of a 20-year-old mentally challenged woman who was gang-raped. DNA tests were conducted on 17 people who were close to the pregnant girl. However, the police said that the report showed that the girl’s father tested positive. The Cafe Parade police have arrested the father in this case.
According to the police, in October last year, the Coma and Able Hospital police station received a phone call. A 20-year-old mentally challenged woman was reported to be in their hospital. She was suffering from stomach pain and was found to be five months pregnant. However, it was learned that the girl had been sexually abused by several people. Since she could not get proper information, the police launched an in-depth investigation into the case. DNA samples were collected from 16 people who were acquainted with her. This included her father, family members and neighbors.
The police terminated the woman’s pregnancy. DNA was collected from her fetus. Kalina was sent to the forensic science lab. The report came on January 27. It was found that the DNA samples collected from the victim’s fetus matched the DNA collected from the father. Based on that report, the father was arrested. The police said that two people from the Cafe Parade slum were also arrested in the same case. A charge sheet was filed against them. But now the police have revealed that the father’s role has been revealed through DNA samples.
