18,971 policemen cast postal votes in Chennai

Tamil Nadu: Ahead of the Assembly elections, 18,971 police officers in Chennai are casting their postal votes.
18,971 police officers working in the Chennai Metropolitan Police Department will register their postal votes on April 18 (Saturday) and April 20 (Monday). 9,703 police officers will vote on April 18 and 9,268 on April 20. Those who have already applied for postal voting have been provided with the necessary forms by the Election Commission. Police stations have been set up in all 16 assembly constituencies in Chennai. Police will cast their votes at the centers assigned to them on both days.
Previously, police officers were required to submit their identity documents at these centers, and after verification by the officials there, they were allowed to vote.
Additionally, each police officer has been assigned a date, place, and time to indicate who should vote on which day, at which polling station, and at what time. The Chennai Metropolitan Police Department and the Election Commission have jointly organized this well-planned voter registration drive.
