2 arrested for attack in Calangute
Panjim: Calangute police have arrested two people for attacking friends of a Thane man.
According to the police, Karim Munawwar, a native of Mumbra, Amritnagar, Thane, Maharashtra, lodged a complaint that accused Siyajit D’Souza, 41, resident of Anjuna and Sahil Kashinath Jadhav, 18, of Parra, assaulted his Prateek Alhat and Sultan Shaikh. Temple of Calangute without any rhyme or reason.
The accused allegedly abused the complainant with obscene words and threatened to kill him and his friends.
A case has been registered against both the accused under sections 324, 504 and 506 (ii) of IPC read with 34 IPC. Later the accused were released on bail. Police said further investigation is underway.
