2 bank officials arrested in Raipur, case of embezzlement of lakhs of rupees
Raipur raipur news. 2 bank officials of District Cooperative Central Bank Limited Raipur have been arrested. Sharad Chandra Gangne, Branch Manager, Branch COD, District Cooperative Central Bank Limited, Maudhapara Raipur, lodged a report at Police Station Maudhapara that he is posted as Branch Manager in District Cooperative Central Bank Limited, Raipur Branch COD (Central Office of Deposit Branch) since 18.05.2023. During inspection in the branch COD of the bank on 23.08.2023 by the Vigilance Cell of the bank, on examining the savings deposit account of Junior Clerk Chandrashekhar Daggar posted in the branch and the savings deposit account of retired Assistant Accountant Arun Kumar Baiswada of the branch, excessive financial transactions were found to have been done despite the monthly salary amount being deposited.
chhattisgarh news In the investigation, retired Assistant Accountant Arun Kumar Baiswada, Chandrashekhar Daggar Co. Ltd. And Sanjay Kumar Sharma, former Assistant Accountant, Branch C.O.D., in collusion, unauthorizedly debited the branch’s F- D- Interest Paid, oa D- D- Interest Paid accounts and withdrew excessive amounts from the accounts of other account holders on various dates during the year 2017 to 2022, causing financial irregularities to the bank of about 52 lakh rupees. In this way, Arun Kumar Baiswade, Assistant Accountant (Retired), Chandrashekhar Daggar and former Assistant Accountant Sanjay Kumar Sharma posted in the branch, during their tenure, in collusion, committed irregularities in various accounts, deposited and withdrew huge amounts in their own accounts in a fraudulent manner, committed breach of trust and committed various types of financial irregularities, embezzling about 52 lakh rupees. On which, crime number 200/23 under sections 420, 409, 34 IPC was registered against the accused in Maudhapara police station. As per the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police Raipur, Shri Santosh Kumar Singh, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Lakhan Patel and under the supervision of City Superintendent of Police (Kotwali) Yogesh Sahu, the team of Maudhapara police station led by the police station in-charge Maudhapara started the investigation of the accused by questioning the applicant and other bank employees in detail regarding the incident. While investigating the accused, the team members arrested the accused Arun Kumar Baiswada and Sanjay Kumar Sharma in the case and sent them to judicial custody.
