Tevaga alliance allies to meet in Chennai on July 1

Tamil Nadu: Amid the new political situation, a crucial consultative meeting of the Tevaga (TDP) alliance partners will be held in Chennai on July 1st. This meeting, to be chaired by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, is expected to be attended by leaders from both coalition parties and those supporting the government. The process of sending formal invitations to various political parties has also been initiated.
According to reports, Tamil Nadu Liberation Tigers Party (VCK) President Thol Thirumavalavan was also invited to attend the meeting on Sunday. It is expected that several key issues related to the future of the government and the alliance will be discussed at the meeting.
The Tevaga formed the government after emerging as the largest party in the recent assembly elections, winning 108 seats. Several parties, including the Congress, Left parties, the VIP, and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), extended support. Following this, Tevaga leader C. Joseph Vijay took oath as Chief Minister and formed the new government.
Early in the government’s formation, the Left parties, the Indian Union Muslim League, and other allies had made it clear that they would maintain their ties with the DMK alliance. They also stated that they were supporting the Tevaga government to prevent a President’s rule-like situation from developing in the state.
However, subsequent developments have rapidly shifted political dynamics. Indian Union Muslim League National President K.M. Kader Mohideen recently announced that his party would leave the DMK alliance and join the Tevaga alliance. This decision is being seen as a significant shift in state politics.
Following this, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) General Secretary Vaiko also announced on Saturday that his party had decided to leave the DMK alliance. Following the MDMK’s decision, political activity in the state has intensified, and discussions have begun about forming new alliances among various parties.
Amidst this changing political climate, a consultative meeting of the allies is being held on July 1st in Meenambakkam, Chennai, under the leadership of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. The purpose of this meeting is said to be to strengthen coordination between the parties supporting the government and the coalition partners.
According to sources, the meeting is expected to discuss government priorities, coalition coordination, future political strategy, and various public issues. However, the details of the official agenda have not yet been made public.
Tevaga is inviting leaders from all coalition partners and those supporting the government to attend the meeting. Political analysts believe that this meeting is considered important in determining future strategy following recent alliance changes.
The presence of leaders from various coalition parties, including Thol. Thirumavalavan, makes the meeting even more significant. It is expected that all coalition partners will discuss their coordination with the government and consider the future political direction.
Tamil Nadu politics has seen frequent alliance-level changes in recent times. Consequently, this consultative meeting on July 1st is considered politically significant. The meeting is expected to provide a clearer picture of the alliance’s future strategy and cooperation between various parties.
Tevaga has currently requested all alliance partners to attend the meeting. Political attention in the state is now focused on the participation of political parties and the decisions taken at the meeting.
