2 laborers buried due to soil settling during sewer digging

Panipat. A major accident took place near Matlauda railway station. In this accident, one laborer died due to sewerage crack and another was seriously injured. Both the workers were digging sewerage work. According to the information received, two laborers were digging underground for sewerage construction.

During this time suddenly the soil cracked and the soil fell into the pit. Both the workers digging inside the pit got buried in the soil. The news of the accident created a stir in Matlauda. After which an attempt was made to rescue both the laborers by immediately calling the JCB machine running nearby.

It took about half an hour for both the workers to come out with the help of local shopkeepers. Due to which one laborer died and another was injured. Both the laborers were taken out and immediately taken to Panipat. According to the information, both the workers were working on the construction of sewerage, where due to sudden fall of mud, both the workers got buried deep.

The deceased laborer has been identified as a youth named Mustafa. At present, it is not clear whose negligence caused the accident. But sewerage construction and pressing work is being done in Matlauda for the last several months. Due to which the local residents and shopkeepers of Matlauda have raised questions on the working style of the contractor.
