2 people from Raipur arrested with Rs 30 lakh cash, car also seized
Mahasamund: Two persons from Raipur have been arrested with Rs 30 lakh cash. According to the information, suspicious vehicles were being checked by the police party near Interstate Check Post Rehtikhol (Chhattisgarh Odisha Border) under Singhoda police station area, when a white colored Maruti Suzuki Wagenaar serial number BL 04 WD 9573 speeding from Bargarh Odisha side. It was coming towards Chhattisgarh. The said vehicle was stopped near the check post. Two persons were found sitting in the car. On being interrogated, the person sitting on the driver seat gave his name (01) Sheikh Qasim father Sheikh Jilani age 35 years Behind Sakin Punjab Tire Mohdapara Raipur District Raipur and the person sitting on the next seat gave his name (02) Alok Kumar Agarwal father Prahlad Agarwal age Sakin, 42 years, said to be a resident of House No. 575, Ward No. 37, Samta Colony, Ramsagar Para Police Station, Azad Chowk, Raipur District, Raipur Chhattisgarh, near Radha Krishna Temple.
On inquiring the person sitting next to the driver’s seat, he told that he was going from Bargarh to Raipur for business from Bargarh Orissa side, on which after checking the vehicle, the person sitting next to him, Alok Kumar Aggarwal, told what was in the bag kept near the front leg. On enquiry, it was revealed that there was cash in the bag. Due to the police team not giving proper answer and the answers being vague and not satisfactory, the bag kept near the front leg was opened and checked by Alok Kumar Aggarwal and the said bag was opened and checked by the sitting person, in which Rs 3080000 cash was found. On inquiring about the said cash amount, he was told to do business of thread and color in the village of Sambalpur, Orissa and to collect the money for the given goods and take it to Raipur, on which notice was given to Alok Kumar Aggarwal regarding the said cash amount, by which It was said that there was no valid document regarding the said money. The conduct of both persons was suspicious.
