2 smugglers arrested with intoxicating tablets in Raipur
Raipur. On the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh, Raipur Police is running a special campaign against drugs under the Mukt Abhiyan, in which all the police stations and the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit are continuously taking action. A special team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit has been formed to take effective action on the Narcotics Act, along with this, all the station in-charges have been directed to take strict action against those selling and supplying drugs. In this connection, on 30.06.2024, information was received that 02 persons riding a two-wheeler near Jaitkham electricity pillar located in Friday market under Urla police station area are carrying banned narcotic tablets with them and are selling them. On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Urla Police Station went to the said place and identified and caught the vehicles and persons mentioned by the informer.
On interrogation, the persons revealed their names as Lokesh Baghel alias Danga and Mangal Tandi alias Gada, residents of Raipur. On searching both of them, the team members found them carrying banned narcotic tablets called Nitroten. On demanding valid documents from both of them regarding possession and sale of the said banned narcotic tablets, they were continuously misleading the team members by not presenting any document of any kind. On which the team members arrested both the accused and seized a total of 200 pieces of banned narcotic tablets Nitroten, sale amount of Rs. 1500 and Activa used in the incident, number CG 04/M/U/5616, total worth about Rs. 62,000/- and registered a case against the accused in Urla police station under crime number 252/24 under section 22(b) and 27(a) of Narcotics Act and took action.
