2 women workers of BJP detained
Gariaband: The election campaign of all political parties is at its peak for the assembly elections to be held on November 17 in Chhattisgarh. All the candidates are busy in wooing the voters. Also, all the parties have released their respective manifestos regarding the elections.
At the same time, BJP has announced to start Mahtari Vandan Yojana in its election manifesto. If BJP comes to power, under this scheme every married woman of the state will be given Rs 12,000 annually. The election process is currently going on. Meanwhile, BJP has started distributing the scheme forms to women and getting them filled. Congressmen have opposed this and have also complained to the Election Commission.
In this series, today the Election Commission team has taken into custody two women who had filled the scheme form in Ward 6 of Gariaband on the complaint of Congress. Along with campaigning in favor of Rajim Assembly BJP candidate Rohit Sahu, some BJP workers were filling the forms of Mahtari Vandan Yojana. The administration team has seized many promotional materials including forms. Other male workers present at the spot ran away.
