DMK to hold talks with MDMK, Manima, MMA today

Tamil Nadu: The DMK Constituency Sharing Committee will hold talks with the MDMK, Makkal Needhi Maiam, and Maniyatta Neya Makkal Katchi parties today (Monday).

Following this, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has been invited on February 26th and the Communist Party of India on February 27th. DMK officials said that the dates for talks with other alliance parties, including the Congress, VVIP, and DMDK, will be announced soon.

The DMK began seat-sharing talks for the 2026 assembly elections on Sunday. As usual, talks began first with the Indian Union Muslim League party. The two parties discussed seat-sharing for over an hour.

In the last election, the Indian Union Muslim League contested three seats on the ladder symbol and lost all of them. Because of this, it appears that the DMK is planning to give the party two seats this time. However, the Indian Union Muslim League has demanded up to five seats.

Previously, the DMK formed a committee to negotiate with alliance parties, headed by party treasurer and MP T.R. Baalu. The committee also includes Principal Secretary K.N. Nehru, Deputy General Secretaries Trichy Siva and A. Raja, and High-Level Action Committee members E.V. Velu and M.R.K. Panneerselvam.
