24 drug addicts arrested due to Jio Khulkar de-addiction campaign

Bhilai. Ram Gopal Garg, BHPUS, Sr. for continuously taking action against those involved in illegal drug trade under Jio Khulkar De-addiction Campaign. On being directed by the Superintendent of Police, Durg, under the guidance of Abhishek Jha, Additional Superintendent of Police, City, Durg and Anant Sahu, Additional Superintendent of Police, Rural, Durg, a campaign was conducted in the district in 09 cases of illegal business of ganja from different police station areas. A total of 15 accused were arrested and more than 63 kg of ganja, 1 Ertiga car, 1 motor cycle and mobile phone worth approximately Rs 1184650/- were seized from their possession.

Similarly, on receiving information about sale of banned drugs, 3 accused were arrested in 3 cases from different police stations and 1 car, about 44273 pieces of Alprazolam capsules and Spascor One Plus tablets worth about Rs 172405/- were recovered from their possession. In the case of sale of drugs in Mohan Nagar police station, Akanksha Khandelwal was earlier arrested with 4800 pieces of banned Alprazolam capsules worth Rs 45000/-, Vaibhav Khandelwal, the absconding accused in this case, was arrested. Also, 5 accused involved in illegal trade of brown sugar and heroin (Chitta) in 5 police station areas were arrested and one car, one weighing machine and more than 390 grams of brown sugar and heroin (Chitta) worth Rs 3172000/- were seized from their possession. More was seized.

During this period, success was achieved in arresting Ajay Sonani, accused of selling brown sugar after coming from Nagpur to Mohan Nagar police station area. Thus far, in the Jio Khulkar de-addiction campaign, Durg Police has arrested 03 accused in 03 cases of brown sugar, 02 accused in 02 cases of heroin (chitta), 15 accused in 09 cases of ganja and 4 accused in 4 cases of banned drugs. Thus, in a total of 18 cases, 24 accused have been arrested and action has been taken under the Narcotics Act. Success was achieved in seizing 2 cars, 3 Activas, 1 motorcycle, mobile, weighing machine and narcotics worth more than Rs 45.25 lakh used in the incident from the possession of the accused. Durg Police’s action against those involved in illegal drug trade will continue.
