Ambala division’s divisional railway manager (DRM) Mandeep Singh Bhatia told reporters that the memu train was empty and there were no casualties. DRM said, “This incident happened on the washing line at around 3 pm. Due to this, train traffic on the main line was not affected. We are investigating the reasons for derailment and the track is being repaired. It may also be that the track is not open or there may be a crack in the track due to which the train derailed. During shunting, there was some error on the part of the driver or other staff. Railway officials have reached the railway track and the work of derailing the train is going on. Accident Investigation of the remains of the train is also going on.
