3 out of 9 injured in fire caused by gas leak in Chembur are in critical condition
Mumbai: Nine people, including four women and a minor, were injured in a fire that broke out following a gas leak in Mumbai’s Chembur area, fire officials said on Friday. He said that three people have suffered more than 50 percent burns and their condition is critical.
A fire broke out in a chawl opposite a Jain temple in Siddharth Colony in Chembur East and was reported at 11.48 pm on Thursday and the fire was brought under control within 10-15 minutes, a fire department official said.
According to the preliminary report by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the fire occurred due to gas cylinder leakage. A fire engine, a jetty and ambulance were rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control within 10-15 minutes, the fire official said.
