3 women smugglers arrested with cannabis worth lakhs

Raipur. Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal has given necessary guidelines to all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police, station in-charges including anti-crime and cyber unit in-charge to detect black drug businessmen and take action to curb it effectively. . On which all the police gazetted officers, police station in-charge and the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit are collecting information regarding drug dealers by engaging informers, patrolling and collecting information. Along with this, to make Raipur drug-free, the Raipur Police launched a comprehensive public awareness campaign against drugs, “Hello Zindagi” on 15.07.2023, by taking continuous action against the businessmen involved in the black business of drugs. Making all out efforts to root it out, action is being taken against the unknown accused involved in this black business. In the same context, on 29.07.2023, the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit received information that all the women near Over Breeze near Bhatagaon, under Purani Basti area, have kept ganja in their bags and are waiting to go somewhere.

On which Additional Superintendent of Police City / Crime Abhishek Maheshwari, Additional Superintendent of Police West Jai Prakash Carpenter, Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Dinesh Sinha and City Superintendent of Police Purani Basti Suresh Dhruv confirmed the information to the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit in-charge and the station in-charge Purani Basti. The women accused were directed to be caught red-handed with ganja. On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Thana Purani Basti Police went to the said place and identified and caught the women of the appearance told by the informer. During interrogation, the women revealed their names as Tulsa Kora, Parvati Pujari and Rashmi Pangi residents of Koraput, Odisha. When the team members searched the bag kept with them, it was found to contain ganja. On which the team members arrested the three women accused and seized a total of 17 kg 500 grams of ganja worth about Rs 1,80,000/- from their possession and registered a crime number 319/23 Section 20B of the Narcotics Act against the women accused in Thana Purani Basti. Action was taken after registering the crime. The women accused have been told to smuggle the ganja from Koraput in Orissa to Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

  2. Parvati Pujari s/o Sitaram Pujari age 28 years r/o Jaipur Police Station Jaipur District Koraput Orissa.
  3. Rashmi Panga father Kuso Panga age 20 years r/o Village Munda Thana Padwa District Koraput Odisha.
