4 arrested for attacking police and freeing a person from custody
Noormahal police have arrested four people, including three teenagers, for attacking police and escaping a man from their custody.
The suspects have been identified as Mohammad Sipahi, a resident of Chema Kala village, and his three associates, all teenagers.
SHO Shash Pal Singh of Gurdaspur’s Purana Shala police station said in his statement that the police received a tip-off that a person, identified as Saif Ali alias Saifu, a resident of Bundala village, Nurmahal, was wanted. The kidnapping case was hidden in Chemma Kalan village.
He said that after receiving the information, the police team reached Mohammad Sai’s camp outside Cheema Kalan village and arrested Saif.
Shashpal said that when he was returning to Nurmahal with his team, an SUV carrying five people with sharp weapons deliberately rammed the police vehicle. They attacked the police personnel and forcibly released Saifu from police custody.
A case was registered under sections 186, 353, 225, 120-B and 341 of the IPC. Saifu and Mohammad Sai are absconding
