4 killed in accident on Delhi-Jaipur Expressway
Gurugram (IANS). Four people, including three children, were killed when a truck rammed into a parked car from behind on the Jharsa flyover of the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway late Tuesday night.
The complainant, Umesh Pal, a resident of Sahibabad district of Uttar Pradesh, told the police that he was going from Ghaziabad to Bhiwadi in a Santro car along with his family members. On the way, a tire of his car got punctured on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. His relative Jonipal was driving the car.
He parked the car on the side of the road and started changing the tyre. During this, Tata 407 Canter coming from behind hit the car, in which Pushpa Devi (50), Satakshi (32), Pari (2), Renu (27), Charu (11), Aarohi, Yashika, Prisa (2) ) and Vidansh (3) were injured. The complainant told the police that the truck kept dragging him for a few metres.
Later, the accused canter driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind.
The complainant said, Me and the car driver Jonipal suffered minor injuries in the accident, we took the injured to a private hospital for treatment.
He said that Satakshi, Pari, Vidansh and Prisa died during treatment, while the rest are still critical and undergoing treatment.
A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the absconding canter driver at Gurugram’s Sector-40 police station. ACP (Crime) Varun Dahiya said, the police is engaged in identifying the guilty driver on the basis of the cantor registration number.
