4 women arrested for attack on IIC of Kaptipada Police Station

Udala: At least 4 women were arrested for attack on IIC of Kaptipada Police Station in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Friday. Three of the women are from Dahisahi and the other woman is from Gohira.

It is to be noted that the IIC of Kaptipada police station was attacked when he had gone to seize illegally stored sand. Nine days after the incident, Police have arrested 4 women while 2 accused are still absconding.

On 18th December, Kaptipada IIC Prakash Rath conducted a raid to seize illegally stored sand in Dahisahi area.

During the raid, Amrita Panigrahi, wife of sand mafia Minoranjan Panigrahi along with other 6 women attacked him. Along with this, a police van was also vandalized. Police IIC Prakash Rath was injured in the attack.
