40 lakh voters will decide the future of 223 candidates
Raipur. Voting for the first phase of assembly elections will begin at 7 am on November 7. There are 223 candidates in the fray for 20 assembly seats, whose fate will be decided by 40,78,681 voters. While giving information about the first phase of assembly elections on Monday, the state election officer said that a total of 223 candidates are in the fray for 20 assembly elections, out of which 198 are male and 25 are female candidates. Voting from 7 am to 3 pm in Mohala Manpur-78, Antagarh-79, Bhanupratappur-80, Kanker-81, Keshkal-82, Kondagaon-83, Narayanpur-84, Dantewada-88, Bijapur-89 and Konta-90. will be. Whereas in Pandaria-71, Kawardha-72, Khairagarh-73, Dongargarh-74, Rajnandgaon-75, Dongargaon-76 and Khujji-77, Bastar-85, Jagdalpur-86 and Chitrakote-87 assembly, voting will be held from 8 am to 5 pm. Out of the 20 assembly constituencies of the first phase, the sex ratio of voters in 16 assembly constituencies is more than 1000 and in 4 assembly constituencies it is less than 1000. The voting percentage in the 18 assembly constituencies that went to polls in the first phase in the Assembly Elections-2018 was – 76.47%.
In the first phase, a total of 200 Sangwari polling stations, 20 polling stations run by disabled people and 20 polling stations run by youth have been created in the state. Out of these, 102 polling stations have been made model polling stations.
In the assembly constituencies of the first phase, as of November 5, a total of 1576 voters (80+ age group and disabled) were elected through door-to-door postal ballot.
Voting has been done. Apart from this, a total of 17234 postal ballot papers have been received in the convenience centers of officers/employees posted on election duty.
The total number of polling stations in the first phase is 5304 (including one auxiliary polling station).
To conduct the elections in the first phase, 21216 polling personnel + reserve 4204, thus a total of 25420 personnel have been appointed. Who have reached the polling stations to conduct peaceful and fair elections.
A total of 156 polling teams have been sent to the polling stations in remote and sensitive areas through helicopters to conduct the elections. The remaining 5148 polling parties have reached the polling stations today via bus.
Extensive security arrangements have been made in the polling stations of all the 20 assembly constituencies for peaceful and fair elections.
Apart from polling parties, 719 sector officers have been deployed in the polling stations on polling day, 7th November. Who will provide information about voting percentage to their returning officer every 2 hours.
BLOs will be present at the Voters Assistance Booth in every polling station with the alphabetical voter list and will help the voters to find their name and simple number.

Out of 20 assembly constituencies, 2 BUs are being used in two assembly constituencies, Rajnandgaon-75 and Kawardha-72, since the number of candidates contesting the elections is more than 16. 01 BU will be used in the remaining 18 assembly constituencies.
Out of total 5304 polling stations in the first phase, web casting facility has been provided at 2431 polling stations, through which the Election Commission of India will keep an eye on those polling stations.
The distribution of voter information slips has been completed in all the assembly constituencies of the first phase and on the basis of undelivered voter information slips, ASD List (Absentee, Shifted, Dead) has been prepared and provided to the polling parties.
Apart from the voter photo identity card, voters will be able to cast their vote by showing 12 other alternative photo documents at the polling station. Voters will be able to submit the following documents as alternative identity cards:
