5 gamblers arrested from the banks of river Parry, caught in siege
Dhamtari. Superintendent of Police Anjaneya Varshney has given strict instructions to all police station/post in-charges to take action against illegal liquor, gambling and betting traders. In this connection, police station Magarlod Patrolling received information from a mobile informer that some people were playing gambling called ‘Kaat Patti’ cards by placing bets of winning or losing with rupees in a public place on the banks of river of village Amlidih Parry. Five accused were caught playing card gambling by laying siege to the nearby area. Crimes have been registered against the accused at Magarlod police station and legal action is being taken against them under Section 3(2)(Chhattisgarh) Gambling (Prohibition) Act 2022.
Police station incharge Magarlod Inspector Rajesh Jagat, PR Virendra Chandrakar, constables Gajendra Sahu, Dharmendra Sahu, Narendra Banjare, Rakesh Sahu, Vimal Patel, Govinda Dhritalhare and Magarlod police staff played an important role in the entire proceedings.
