5 gamblers arrested in police siege

Janjgir. Kotmisonaar, situated on the border of Janjgir and Bilaspur, is now becoming a gambling den. On Tuesday, the police cordoned off the area and arrested five gamblers. Rs 12,500, 52 cards, 5 mobiles and a bike have been seized from the possession of the accused.

The police had received information from an informer that some gamblers were gambling with cards by betting money in Kotmisonaar of Akaltara area. On receiving the information, a team was formed and the area was cordoned off and raided and the accused Ashwani Sahu, Dharmendra Dikeshwar, resident of Kotimsonar, Gaurav Singh, resident of Masturi, Khamhan Kewat and Ram Avatar Dhiwar, resident of Kotmisonaar, were caught gambling on the spot.
