6 women killed in bus-auto collision

Amaravati (IANS) | Six women were killed and four others injured when a private bus rammed into an autorickshaw in Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district on Sunday. The accident took place on National Highway 216 near Sitaramapuram in Tallarevu mandal.

Six women died on the spot. The injured have been admitted to Kakinada Government Hospital.

All the deceased were residents of Nilapalli in Yanam. All of them were employees in a unit engaged in the trade of fish. According to the police, she was returning home after finishing work when the accident happened.

The police have registered the case and taken it under investigation. They are trying to ascertain how the accident happened, an official said.
