6th class student died of malaria
Bijapur. Bablu Punem, a Class 6 student, died of malaria in Chinnakodepal Potakabin. Bablu Punem, a resident of Chilnar, had become malaria positive on July 17 in Potakabin. After the medical report was malaria positive, he was admitted to Bijapur Hospital. Seeing the deteriorating condition of the student here, he was referred to Jagdalpur. The student was undergoing treatment at Dimrapal Hospital. Meanwhile, on the night of 22 July, the student died during treatment. As soon as the death due to malaria was known, the health department was alerted.
Every year during the rainy season, the outbreak of malaria proves to be a big problem for the people of Bastar division. To get rid of this, the government is also running a continuous campaign. As soon as the rains start, hospitals as well as health centers are alerted about dengue and malaria. According to Potakabin Superintendent Amit Korsa, every effort was made to treat the student, but he was said to have died due to malaria on his head.
