7 gamblers arrested while placing bets, inspector raided with team
Balod: Police have arrested 7 accused involved in gambling. In fact, Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Yadav (B.P.S.) has ordered all the police stations and outpost in-charges of the district to take effective action against those playing and gambling in the area, in compliance with which gambling in village Tekapara under Balod police station area has been stopped. On receiving information about the game, 7 gamblers who were gambling were caught on the spot by Balod police station in a joint raid. On the spot, Rs 4400 in cash and 52 playing cards were seized from the gamblers’ possession, the act of the accused was punishable under Section 3(2) of the Public Chhattisgarh Code. Due to the presence of Gambling Prohibition Act 2022, crime number 448/2023 was registered in Balod police station and 7 accused were arrested.
Balod Police Station Inspector Ravishankar Pandey, Head Constable Ashwan Kumar Churendra, Constable Lavan Singh Rajput, Manish Rajput, Vivek Ananddhir, Manoj Meshram, Mohan Kokila, Bhagirati Uike, Bhupesh Sinha, Nageshwar Sahu played a commendable role in the entire proceedings.
