7 smugglers arrested for selling liquor illegally in Raipur
Raipur. Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal, as per the intention of the government and Raipur Police’s comprehensive public awareness campaign against drugs, “Hello Zindagi”, all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police, including station in-charges, in-charge anti-crime and cyber units from other states Along with stopping the smuggling of incoming liquor, it has been directed to take action in relation to the people who buy and sell liquor illegally. In which all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police and in-charge A.C.C.U. Along with collecting information in this regard by the police station in-charges and appointing informers, information is also being collected through other means.
In the same sequence, on 30.07.2023, the police team of Kharora and Dharsinwa police station arrested a total of 07 accused with illegal liquor in their respective police station area and seized a total of 196 pow country liquor worth about Rs.49,000/- from their possession. Action was taken against the accused in the concerned police stations. The details of the proceedings are as follows- 01. In the case of Crime No. 524/23 Section 34(2) Excise Act of Police Station Kharora, accused Rupesh Chelak father Jitendra Chelak age 23 years resident of Asaunda police station Kharora district Raipur and Ajay Kumar alias Golu Turkane father Dinesh Turkane. Age 23 years, resident of Asaunda police station Kharora district Raipur was arrested and action was taken against the accused by seizing 41 pauva of English liquor and 01 piece of two wheeler number CG/04/NC/6418 Jumla worth Rs.30,000/- used in the incident. 02. In the case of Crime No. 525/23 Section 34(2) Excise Act of Police Station Kharora, accused Gajendra Verma father Bali Verma, age 24 years, resident of Nilja Police Station Kharora, District Raipur was arrested and 43 pow country liquor worth about 5,000/- was seized from his possession. Action was taken against the accused by seizing Rs. 03. In the case of crime number 362/23 section 34(2) of Excise Act of police station Dharsinwa, accused Ravi Patela father Jaschand Patela age 40 years resident of village Gidhauri police station Dharsinwa Raipur was arrested and 56 pova country liquor and sale amount of approx. Rs 6,500/- was seized and action was taken against the accused. 04. In the case of Crime No. 526/23 Section 34(1)B Excise Act of Police Station Kharora, accused Kejuram Dhiwar father Chautram Dhiwar age 62 years resident of Nilja Police Station Kharora district Raipur was arrested and 16 pow country liquor worth about 2,000/- was seized from his possession. Action was taken against the accused by seizing Rs. 05. In the case of Section 34(1)B Excise Act of Police Station Kharora, accused Ishwar Markam father Lalit Markam age 33 years resident of Karia Dama Chowk Police Station Kharora District Raipur and Shushil Markam father Dau Lal Markam age 38 years resident Karia Dama Chowk Police Station Kharora District After arresting Raipur, action was taken against the accused by seizing 35 pova country liquor worth about Rs.5,500/- from his possession.
