7 year old girl sexually assaulted
New Delhi (IANS). A seven-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her 50-year-old neighbor in South Delhi. The police gave this information on Tuesday.
Sharing the details, a senior police officer said that on Monday at 2:20 p.m. Lodhi Colony Police Station received information about sexual harassment of a girl. Acting on the PCR call, the police team was sent to the spot.
The officer said, “The call was made by the victim’s mother. The 50-year-old accused was the neighbor of the caller.”
“A counselor from the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) was called, who spoke to the girl and her mother, both of whom alleged that their neighbor sexually assaulted the girl on August 20,” the official said.
“Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against the apprehended accused person under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act,” the officer said.
