75 lakh retired employees of the country are agitating demanding increase in pension.
Rajkot: An application has been filed by the Rajkot Dairy Retired Employees Association in the Provident Fund office located at University Road here, demanding closure of the basic pension received under EPS 95 and giving minimum pension by various corporations across the country. Rs 7500 to 75 lakh retired employees. A petition was issued to accept the judicial pension claim of retired pensioners.
Since the question of EPS 95 pensioners is pending before the Government of India for a long time, the agitation is being carried out under the leadership of National Extension Committee. Regarding the movement led by retired Navy Chief Commander Ashok Rautji, it was said in the petition that the Government of India had implemented the EPS 95 scheme under the Employees Provident Fund Scheme in 1995. In which a small amount was deposited in the pension every month from the provident fund of the employee and the owner. Due to which, under the EPF scheme, a retired employee gets a pension ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 4,000.
In today’s era of inflation, it is difficult to survive on a modest pension. In such a situation, under the leadership of Rajkot Dairy Retired Employees Association, a minimum of Rs. Rs 7500 monthly pension, medical facilities besides dearness allowance were started for retired employees and their wives in Delhi. Due to which the final solution to this question was given on 13 December 2023. But till date this has not been implemented.
In such a situation, if the problems of retired employees of the entire country are not solved, then the life of retired pensioners has become difficult. The fast movement will be started again from January 30. Such warning was given.
