76.47 percent voting took place in the first phase: Chief Electoral Officer
Raipur. After the first phase of voting on 20 seats of Chhattisgarh Assembly on Tuesday, the Election Commission has released (provisional) voting figures. A total of 76.47 percent voting took place in the first phase, in which the highest turnout was 84.65 percent in Bastar assembly constituency and the lowest was 46 percent in Bijapur.
Giving information about the first phase of voting, Chief Electoral Officer Reena Baba Saheb Kangale said that due to technical problems, 62 control units and 123 VVPATs were changed. Giving information about the Keshakal accident, he said that the polling personnel met with the accident while returning home after collecting the ballot box. During the elections, Naxal incidents took place at a total of 3 places.
