77 year old man murdered in Pilern
A 77-year-old man from Punjab was murdered and robbed at a rented villa in Marra, Pilerne on Sunday. Navi Mumbai Crime Branch has detained a man and a woman in connection with the murder.
A team of Goa Police left for Mumbai to take the suspects into their custody for further investigation in the case.
The victim has been identified as Nims Badal Dhillon, a retired businessman who had rented Villa Horizon Azura in Marra, Pilerne. He lived alone in the villa and sometimes rented it out to other people.
Villa manager Seema Singh told Porvorim police on Sunday morning that she had gone to see Dhillon when he did not respond to her calls. He found her lying dead in her room with minor injuries on her body.
When the police reached the spot, they found that the jewelery worn by Dhillon, her mobile phone and the rented car were missing from the premises.
The police also came to know that some guests had come to Dhillon’s house on Saturday night.

There, a crime branch team stopped the car and detained two occupants, a man and a woman, who were found with stolen goods.
Police suspect that the two had befriended Dhillon and had gone to his villa on Saturday night.
They allegedly murdered him and looted his valuables before fleeing in his car.
Police are interrogating the suspects and verifying their history, they have registered a case of murder and robbery under sections 302 and 392 of the Indian Penal Code.
Police are also looking into the possibility of some other accomplice or motive behind the crime.
