8-yr-old falls in 60-ft-deep Siphon in Odisha, rescue operation underway

Angul: In a shocking incident, 8-year-old has fallen into a 60-ft-deep siphon in Odisha’s Angul district said reports on Tuesday morning.

Reports say that, a eight-year-old boy had allegedly gone to the canal to see the high water level when he slipped and fell into a 60-ft-deep siphon in Athamallik block of Angul.

The boy is said to be a student of Athamallik Saraswati Sishu Mandir. He has been there, stuck in the siphon for the past one hour.

The rescue operations have started. The ODRAF team along with a JCB (earth mover) has reached the spot and is trying to rescue the boy.
