800 people defrauded: Greed to introduce them to call girls, playing through app
Jaipur: A case of fraud and robbery has come to light in the urban areas of Rajasthan which will surprise you. A gang of five people used to lure people into honey trafficking by luring them with call girls and then rob them at gunpoint on the pretext of calling the girl to meet them. Many such cases have come to the notice of the police in Udaipur. The police have busted this gang and arrested its mastermind.
This gang victimized about 800 people in 6 months by luring people to meet call girls and defrauded them of Rs 5 crore. Actually, the gang leader had created an app and by posting profiles of beautiful girls on it, he used to trick people into booking call girls online.
As soon as someone contacted them, they would call him to a deserted area on the pretext of delivering the girl and there they would rob him at gunpoint. According to Udaipur Police, ‘Information was received that a gang is active in the city which sends pictures of beautiful girls to people on WhatsApp. Apart from this, the girls used to call people to isolated places on the pretext of booking and rob them.
After receiving the information, the police had arrested many people of this gang in the month of August but still they were not able to control it. In the same sequence, during the investigation, mastermind Rakesh Meena, after being caught, told that he along with his friend Ankit used to carry out the entire fraud through TOTTAXX, a website created for the supply of call girls.
The accused told that both of them used to create a page of this website. In the city where they were to commit the fraud, they were given information about providing call girls in any district of Rajasthan. If any person sitting in Rajasthan opened this website, then Call Girl in Udaipur, Call Girl in Jaipur would be written on it.
The accused used to post pictures accessed from the Instagram profiles of girls on these pages and their false names were given. To gain the trust of the customers who fell into their trap, they used to offer the option of cash payment instead of online payment.
When people clicked on the link given by the accused, fake profiles of the girls would open in which there was an option to chat or call the girl directly on WhatsApp. As soon as the customer clicked on it, the WhatsApp chat opened.
The official said that customers had to write only Hi in the chat. As soon as the message was received, people associated with Jaipur-based Rakesh’s gang used to send 10 to 15 stolen Instagram photos of models to the customer on WhatsApp. When the customer selected a girl from the pictures sent, the accused used to share her rate. After this the customer was asked the place to drop the girl. Then 3 to 4 miscreants used to reach the same location in a car with the girl.
When the customer reached the specified place, they would show him the girl in the car from a distance and take the fixed amount in cash from the customer. Then when the customer asked to send the girl along, they used to threaten him with weapons. Moreover, they used to ask him to run away from there. In such a situation, the customer used to leave from there due to fear of defamation.
