9 looters arrested with cash and jewellery amounting to more than Rs. 3 lakh

Bolangir: Major success for Bolangir Police on Friday, they have arrested nine looters accused of theft and robbery cases in the district.

According to reports, there were 17 cases against them in different police stations. All the arrested accused are from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh region.

Police has seized more than three lakh rupees, gold and silver ornaments from them. They used to sell toys in various fairs of Bolangir district wherein they used to stalk women and target them for robbery.

Balangir SP Risikesh Khilari informed that the investigation is continuing as to who else is involved in this incident. Further detailed reports awaited in this regard.
