90 attend free medical camp for BRO workers
The District Labour Department, Kinnaur, organised a free medical camp for the workers of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) at Retakhan in the Pooh development block.
The camp was conducted by the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
District Labour Welfare Officer Sapan Jasrotia said health check-ups were conducted for 90 BRO workers, and free medicines were distributed.
The objective of the camp was to extend the benefits of the inclusive schemes implemented by the state government for the welfare of workers, he added.
Additionally, it aimed to provide detailed information about the public welfare schemes run by the state government for workers, ensuring that the underprivileged sections in tribal and remote areas received benefits on the ground, he said.
The Labour Department would organise medical camps periodically to provide health facilities to workers, Jasrotia added, stating that to obtain information about the welfare schemes implemented by the state government for workers, one could contact the authorities on 01786-223903.
