Revanth has major departments
Hyderabad: Soon after Prime Minister A Revanth Reddy submitted a list to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Saturday, the state government issued a notification in an official bulletin to assign portfolios to ministers. The Prime Minister, apart from General Administration and Public Order, will also hold the portfolio of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD).
The possession of MA&UD’s portfolio on the part of Revanth acquires importance as the head of TPCC had earlier given the lease of the outer perimeter road to IRB Infrastructure Developers through lease, operation and transfer for an amount of Rs 7.380 million during 30 years. Had protested. He had made serious allegations of corruption against the then MA&UD minister KT Rama Rao and senior officials. HMDA had also legally notified Revanth, stating that he acted in a transparent manner and followed the procedure established by the National Highway Authority of India. Then the Congress government will cancel the rent agreement.
Meanwhile, the important portfolios of finance and revenue have been handed over to Deputy Ministers Principal Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy respectively. Manthani MLA D Sridhar Babu will replace Rama Rao as TI minister. Apart from TI, Shridhar will also hold the departments of Industry and Commerce and Legislative Affairs. Analysts said that since Congress has only one member in the council, Sridhar needs to better coordinate with other opposition members in the council to guarantee approval of legislation projects.
The equation of castes was also considered in the composition of the cabinet. There are four ministers from the Reddy community. There are two BC, two SC and one each Brahmin, Velama, Kamma and ST communities. However, it is learned that some ministers were dissatisfied with the allocation of portfolios. According to reports, the Prime Minister is working to address their concerns.
