Half yearly examinations in Tamil Nadu will start from December 13
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday announced that semester examinations for state schools and government-aided schools have been postponed till December 13.
According to an official release, the examinations, which began on December 11, have been conducted across the state as per the instructions of Prime Minister MK Stalin.
The Department of Academic Education announced a revised calendar according to which examinations for classes 6 to 12 will be conducted from December 13 to 22 due to cyclone ‘Michong’. It also declared holiday from December 4 to 9 in schools in Chennai, Chengalpet. of. , Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts.
Schools will reopen on December 11 and the government has allocated Rs 1,90 million for the fund which will cover cleaning of school facilities affected by torrential rains and floods in Chennai and three other nearby districts.
On 12 December, they distributed text books and notebooks to students whose books were damaged or lost due to rains and floods.
