Immigration company defrauded a person of Rs 20 lakh
Chandigarh: Police have registered a case against an immigration consultant for luring an Ambala resident with Rs 20 lakh. Jaspal Singh alleged that Mohit Saini and other representatives of a Sector 34-headquartered company had taken over from him under the pretext of providing a Canadian work permit visa to his son. Chandigarh: According to reports, an unknown person stole money from a woman’s purse in Mani Majra. A resident of Zirakpur said that Rs 12,500 was stolen from his bag in a shop. A case was registered at Mani Majra Police Commissionerate and investigation was initiated. tns

Chandigarh: In the 15º Campeonato de Cricket Sub Junior, Kunwar Jhamb played a quickfire inning of 63 runs as St. Joseph’s School, Sector 44 secured a 28-run win over Kundan International Academy (KIA), Sector 26. netball team trial tomorrow
Chandigarh: The Association for Promotion of Sports of Netball, Chandigarh will conduct trials to select local teams on December 12 at the campus grounds of Panjab University. Teams will be selected for the 36th Campeonato National de Netball Junior and the 2nd Campeonato National Junior Fast-5 (Boys and Girls). In Madhya Pradesh from 25 to 31 January and in Telangana from 13 to 16 January respectively. Players who have died after 1 February 2005 are eligible to participate. tns
National skating meet from today.
Chandigarh: Over 4,000 skaters from 27 states will take to the streets from December 11 to 25 to participate in the 61st National Patina Championship. Asian and World medalists will compete for the top honors along with 100 international players. The city will host hockey competitions on skates and online hockey at the skating track in Sector 7 and KB DAV School in Sector 7. Chandigarh: Local players Sahar Nair, Savir Sood and Vikas Nair celebrate the Northern Squash Championship in New Delhi. Seher de Vivek High School won the women’s sub-17 title. Sood, from Delhi Public School, won the under-17 men’s category and the Vikas men’s category for seniors above 50 years of age. Swara Trehan of Strawberry Fields got the sub-championship in the women’s sub-11 final.
