The girl who was going to jump from the metro bridge was saved
New Delhi: A 20-year-old girl, who was trying to jump from the bridge near Shadipur Metro station in Delhi on Monday, was saved in time by the Central Industrial Security Force, Delhi Police and Metro officials. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
According to Delhi Police, the girl had gone to Shadipur metro station with her mother on Monday evening. Police said she had a brief argument with her mother at the metro station, following which she got down on the metro tracks and reached the bridge, from where she tried to jump down.
Police also said that there was a long-running fight between the girl and her mother over some issues, due to which her mother often scolded her. Delhi Police said that the girl has been challaned for obstructing the work of Metro. Police said that she is also being counseled at the Women’s Commission.
Earlier in 2022, a man died by suicide after jumping in front of a train at Delhi’s Udyog Bhawan metro station. The same year, a girl died after jumping from the Akshardham metro station on the Blue Line in East Delhi.
