Accused of commenting on Prophet, 12th class boy suspended
Aligarh: A Class 12 boy was beaten up by his campus mates inside a university campus in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh for allegedly making objectionable comments on Prophet Mohammad and posting them on social media.
School authorities said they have suspended the 18-year-old boy from Bijnor district and ordered an investigation into his comments.
School officials said the student will remain suspended until the investigation is complete. School officials said students were discussing the Israel-Hamas war on Monday evening when it turned toward the Prophet Mohammed and the 18-year-old boy made some offensive comments.
An official of the school management said, “The protesting students have demanded their expulsion and registration of FIR. But he has not yet given any written complaint.”
He told that the hostel inmates had locked the boy in the room and beaten him. “They pressured him to delete his objectionable post,” the officer said. The boy ran towards the proctor’s office when our security personnel saved him. His parents were informed and they took him with them late at night.” The officer said that the boy’s parents have also not given any written complaint.
