MPs asking similar questions in similar words is a matter of great concern
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that it is a cause of great concern that some MPs are asking the wrong questions, and sometimes with the wrong words.
During the question period, the Minister of Communications, Electronics, Information Technology and Railways also said that he wants to keep this topic in the information of Telecom.
BSP member Ritesh Pandey asked a question related to the neutrality of the Red Army, while giving his answer Vaishnav also mentioned that other members had also asked the same question, and one of them had said it with similar words.
The minister noted that Lok Sabha Congress members, Muraleedharan and Vincent H Pala, as well as Rajya Sabha members: Digvijay Singh (Congress) and Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shiv Sena) had also asked the same question
Pandey cited that the Questions Department of the House says that if three or four members ask the same question, the chances of getting an answer are higher. Then, members share questions and this happens as per the rules, it has been added.
Meanwhile, in response to questions on the proposal to charge OTT (over the top) entities for network usage, Vaishnav said that “the principle of network neutrality is well established in India”.
The minister also attacked the Congress, saying the telecom sector, especially BSNL, had turned into a “loser sector” during the UPA mandate.
He said that under the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the telecom sector has turned into an emerging sector.
