BRS MPs push for reservation for BCs in legislative bodies
Hyderabad: BRS leader and Rajya Sabha member Vaddiraju Ravichandra on Wednesday demanded the Central government to immediately introduce a project of legislation in Parliament to establish reservation for BCs in legislative bodies. He participated in the Maha Dharna celebrated at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi under the aegis of Rajya Sabha member and BC leader R Krishnaiah, demanding reservation for BCs in both the Assemblies and Parliament. At that time he had said that BCs are in majority in the country and all the states. These should provide credit representation in legislative organs including Parliament. The question is whether the Center will create a separate ministry for BCs and provide them 50 percent reserve in the law project. It was recorded that BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao had extended his support to the demand for reservation for BCs. A resolution was adopted in the first state assembly and transmitted to the Centre.
