TEL AVIV: Israeli forces attacked 300 Hamas targets in Gaza in the past 24 hours, including air and naval strikes and hand-to-hand combat, the Israeli Defense Forces said on Wednesday morning. Dozens of militants were killed, the IDF said.
The targets included a building in Khan Yunis that served as a headquarters and weapons storage facility. Weapons seized by Israeli forces included ammunition, explosive charges and 20 mortar shells.
The site from where Hamas fired rockets at Israel on Tuesday was also destroyed.
The IDF also said Wednesday morning that aircraft struck several Hezbollah positions in Lebanon in response to the rocket attack.
At least 1,200 people were killed in Hamas attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on 7 October. The number of men, women, children, soldiers and foreigners held captive by Hamas in Gaza is now believed to be 129. Others are unknown. As Israeli authorities continue to identify bodies and search for human remains.
