CM announces removal of ban on hijab from Karnataka government

Karnataka: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday announced that his government will withdraw the ban on hijab in the state.

Earlier, the Karnataka government had banned wearing of hijab in educational institutions. Karnataka HC upheld the government’s decision in March 2022 after petitions were filed against it.
