Jambua River polluted due to waste coming out of Jambua Landfill Site
Vadodara: Solid waste generated in the city is taken to the Jambua landfill site by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation. Jambuwa river also passes behind this place. Due to dumping of garbage from landfill sites the garbage is falling into the river and the river is becoming dirty and polluted. Activists aware of this matter have also given a memorandum to the district administration and the corporation.
These conscious activists said that the corporate system has understood the vision of beautification of the lake, but the river is being forgotten. The pile of solid waste at the Jambua Land Field Site is increasing day by day and the waste is being discharged back into the river. The condition of this river is becoming like Vishwamitri. Even on the banks of Vishwamitri in Vadodara, people are still dumping garbage and spreading filth in the river. Contaminated water is also being released into the river. People throw garbage in the river at night. Although the corporation machinery takes action and fines people who throw such garbage on the river banks, the Jambuwa river which originates from Naripura meets the Vishwamitri river after a distance of about 15 km. Jambuwa River is a tributary of Vishwamitri River. This river should also be protected and stopped from being polluted. Dumping of garbage at landfill sites is further polluting the river. It is learned that he is also going to present his views on this issue before the Gujarat Pollution Control Board.
