Amit Shah, who is the BJP’s election in-charge for Telangana, will chair an organizational meeting in Shamshabad to chalk out the strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
During his visit, he will meet core members of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Shamshabad and later meet BJP ‘mandal’ presidents from across Telangana at the Slokha conference.
Shah will also offer prayers at Bhagyalakshmi Temple in Hyderabad.
Notably, the saffron party won four of the 17 seats in Telangana in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Earlier in a significant move, Shah was made the BJP’s in-charge for Odisha, Telangana and West Bengal for the Lok Sabha elections next year – states where the party has lagged electorally.
In the recent state assembly elections in Telangana, the BJP doubled its vote share, securing 8 assembly seats compared to the 2018 assembly elections in which the party won just one seat and secured a mere 7 per cent of the total vote share.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Amit Shah along with BJP national president JP Nadda held organizational meetings with members of the party’s core committee for West Bengal.
The Union Home Minister gave his party a target of winning 35 out of 42 parliamentary seats in West Bengal in the state.
“Today met @BJP4Bengal Core Group in Kolkata with National President Shri @JPNadda ji and discussed strategies for the upcoming elections. The people of Bengal trust PM Modi ji and are fully prepared to bless BJP in 2024.” Lok Sabha elections with 35 seats,” Shah posted on Twitter.
Lok Sabha elections are likely to be held between April and May 2024 to elect 543 members of the Lok Sabha.
