SHILLONG: Many two-wheelers, shops burnt to ashes in Jhalupara area

Apart from a shop, many two-wheelers were completely burnt to ashes due to a massive fire that broke out in the city on Thursday morning. The incident occurred near a house in Jhalupara area at around 2 am.
According to the FIR lodged at Jhalupara outpost, the fire started from a scooty (ML05A 2201) and soon spread to a nearby paan shop and four two-wheelers parked in the area.
Two shops were also partially burnt in the incident.
According to the FIR, a man was abusing one of the complainants at the time of the incident.
It is noteworthy that in the last one year, at least 3-4 such incidents of setting fire and vandalism of two-wheelers have come to light in Jhalupara and Mavprem areas.
