Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot said this

New Delhi: Former Rajasthan CM and Congress alliance committee member Ashok Gehlot today spoke on seat sharing for Lok Sabha elections 2024 ahead of a major party meeting.

“When Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge formed our committee for the alliance the agenda was clear. The committee decided how the alliance should proceed and what our party leaders think.”
Ashok Gehlot said, “The first phase is completed in which discussions were held with our state leaders as to what they think about Congress-ruled states.”

“At what level do we have to hold talks with leaders of other parties? How many seats do we have to give and take? Today there will be a meeting with Rahul Gandhi and Congress chief Kharge. In which direction the discussion will take place” We have to move forward. Kharge ji will decide who to give the responsibility and whether to give it officially to some AICC workers or not”, Ashok Gehlot further said.

Ashok Gehlot revealed, “He will also decide who will communicate, with which party and at what level.”
However, even as the alliance committee is working out the details of a possible alliance within the Indian bloc, problems are still emerging in several states. Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury questioned Mamata Banerjee after the news of Trinamool Congress giving only two seats to the Congress in the possible Lok Sabha alliance in West Bengal.

Adhir Ranjan Choudhary said, “We won two seats on our own, we are not begging for these seats. On one hand Mamata Banerjee says that India Bloc will contest elections together and on the other hand such statements are coming.

In Punjab, Congress is strongly opposing the Aam Aadmi Party which is the ruling party in the state. On December 30, senior Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa had fiercely targeted the Bhagwant Mann government, accusing it of poor performance.

“Even in 2023, the Punjab government made false promises to industrialists and entrepreneurs instead of resolving their issues. As a result, the business community appears to be reluctant to set up business in the state.

The deteriorating law and order situation poses the biggest threat to entrepreneurs in the state. Industrialists often complain of road and rail closures due to protests organized by unemployed youth, irregular workers and farmer unions.

“The Chief Minister failed to address some of the genuine demands of these groups, giving the impression that Punjab is not a suitable state to set up business or industry,” Bajwa said in a post on Twitter.

Notably, India’s political landscape is undergoing a significant change as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach. India (Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance) is gearing up to challenge the established National Democratic Alliance.

The bloc is struggling to resolve key challenges, including finalizing seat-sharing arrangements and most importantly deciding a PM face, while the BJP looks to win the general elections in 2023. Have started implementing the strategies.
