Theft of Rs 81 lakh in six months, complaint against beverage employee

Pathanamthitta: An employee of the Beverages Corporation in Koodal, Pathanamthitta allegedly embezzled Rs 81 lakh. The retail store manager lodged a complaint following which Koodal police registered a case against Kollam Surnad LD Clerk Arvind. Arvind is accused of withdrawing huge sums of money over six months starting June 2023, when a part of the money meant for the bank went missing. His prolonged absence from work raised suspicion.

Also, in another incident involving Idukki Bison Valley Beverages Corporation, Muvattupuzha employee Adimali Mannamkandam native PN Saji had to face legal consequences. The Vigilance Court had sentenced Saji to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh for embezzling Rs 2,29,300. Saji allegedly embezzled the shop’s income without depositing the entire amount in the bank. This decision was issued last October.
