History sheeter used to steal bike by wearing wig, Afzalgarh police caught him

Bijnor. Afzalgarh Police has arrested a history-sheeter who stole a bike by wearing a wig to hide his identity. A stolen bike has been recovered from the possession of the accused. Apart from this, the police have also found another burnt bike. Police say that the accused used different methods to hide his identity while committing theft crimes.
On Monday, SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi gave information about the entire matter in the Police Line auditorium. He told that Vishal, resident of village Maniyawala, had lodged a complaint at Afzalgarh police station on October 4. Vishal had told the police that the bike parked outside his house had been stolen. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case and started investigating the matter.
After the incident of bike theft, the police intensified investigation in the surrounding areas. The movements of the suspects were monitored and information was collected about the stolen bike. During this time, the police got important information about the accused. Based on the information, on October 5, the police team arrested Sonu alias Sohail. The accused is said to be a resident of Duda Colony, Afzalgarh.
According to the police, the same bike was recovered from the possession of the accused, which was stolen from village Maniyawala on October 4. After the bike was recovered, the police started interrogating the accused. During interrogation, information was also collected about his activities and method of theft.
Police say that the accused used to use wig to hide his identity. In this way he tried to hide his real identity from the people and the cameras installed nearby. While stealing the bike, he used to commit the crime by changing his appearance so that it would be difficult to identify him later.
During the arrest of the accused, the police also found another black bike. According to the police, this bike was burnt by pouring petrol. Seeing the condition of the burnt bike, the police has started investigation regarding it also. Police are now trying to find out whose bike it was and what was the reason behind burning it.
SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said that the arrested accused also has a criminal history and is a history-sheeter. In such a situation, the police is also collecting information about his old cases. It is also being investigated how many bikes the accused has stolen before and whether any other person was also involved with him.
A major point of police investigation is also where the accused took the stolen bikes and what was done with them further. The possibility of selling the stolen bikes, disassembling them for parts or using them in some other crime is also being investigated.
After the method of changing identity by wearing a wig came to light, the police is also looking at the old activities of the accused from the same perspective. Police are trying to find out whether the same accused was involved in some other incidents of bike theft that happened earlier. For this, old cases and available video footage can be examined.
The police were already alert about the incidents of bike theft in Afzalgarh area. After receiving the complaint on October 4, swift action was taken and the accused was arrested the very next day. Police is considering the recovery of the stolen bike as an important success.
The discovery of a burnt bike has added another aspect to the case. Police are now trying to trace the owner and records of that bike on the basis of its engine and chassis number. Only after it becomes clear will it be known whether the bike was stolen or it was burnt for some other reason.
Based on the interrogation of the accused, the police can also investigate other possible locations. If the role of any gang or other associates comes to light in this case, action will be taken against them also.
At present, the police has arrested the accused Sonu alias Sohail and recovered the stolen bike. Investigation is ongoing regarding his criminal history, burnt bike and possible other theft incidents. Police say that further legal action will be taken based on the evidence found in the case.
